We’re known for our beautiful chairs, handcrafted from solid northern hardwood and featuring
- Steam-bent chair backs – we craft them on site in our Monson workshop
- Hand-turned spindles and legs – crafted in our own lathe room
- Solid, highly durable joints – we compress the ends of all our spindles, stretchers, and joints, then insert them into precision-cut holes, pre-glued with water-based glue. The glue then causes the wood to swell so it fits tightly in the holes, creating durable joints.
Count the screws in a Moosehead chair… Most likely you won’t find any, and you’ll never find more than two! That’s because we use screws only in our armchairs – one to attach each arm to the back post.
